I have very little understanding of the legal world of what is allowed or not. Can I use the floor plans?

No.

There's a slim change they might give permission if you asked nicely. I think the legal talk mailing list would be the best place to discuss this (and how to document it) if that's what you plan on doing. I am not a lawyer.
