What do you use to connect the [public_transport=platform] to the [railway=tram] (if you do)?

Generally, there is no connection between a platform and a railway (or highway). Route relations are used to indicate that traffic on the railway (highway) uses a certain platform for allowing passengers to board/disembark by line.

Are you familiar with the wiki page on mapping public transport?
