Accuracy of Maps

0

I am looking to hookup OSM Maps to a Visual Data tool.

However, I note that when I use the OSM in your site as an example and I type in my home address it places the marker half way down the road in which I live. Why

If I say I use yahoo for the geo will this improve the situation or am I missing something

Regards

Peter

OSM's maps are usually pretty accurate, however we still lack a lot of house numbers. Chances are house numbers are not, or not adequately, mapped in your area, so OSM has no idea where exactly on the street your house is, and places the marker somewhere in the middle of the street.

You can help improving the map by recording house numbers in your area.
