I've added many translations to Geonames in the past and am inquiring about if I need to manually add them to OSM as well?

What is the relationship between Geonames data and Open Street Maps data. If I've added changes to one source, will the other eventually receive the same amendments?

Is there any relationship between the ids of each dataset, or do we need to do geospatial analysis to match location?

Have a look at the OSM wiki at Geonames ...

It seems that data from Geonames is NOT imported to OSM, so you need to add them here as well (if I understand that information there right)

PS stephan75 meant : "the GeoNames page on the OSM wiki".
