How do I tag a telephone switching sub station? There is no business office. It receives microwaves and distributes over copper wires.

Hi dougcb68, the general tag for these is telecom=exchange. Check out the wiki page for telecom=exchange for some other details that can be added.

It receives microwaves

You will need to map the receiver as a separate object.

telecom:medium=cooper is for the distribution side. I'm not aware of a scheme to tag the transmission side being microwave under telecom=exchange

Find a tag or make one!

It's true that the telecom:medium tag describes the distribution side, ie, the interface for the telephone customers. I don't offhand know of any tag for specifying the network link type of a telecom exchange, but offhand I'd suggest telecom:network_link=microwave. No need to map it as a separate object.

I mean the antenna/dish on the building.

What does this look like? Could it be:

  • man_made=mast / man_made=tower +
  • tower:type=communication +
  • communication:microwave=yes

per this page?
