Hello, Could some one comment on what a OSM user/mapper could do to reflect changes, edits and additions made to OSM map on to opentopomap.org maps?

Is there a way to retrieve an altitude value of the waypoint placed on to opentopomap.org map layer loaded in application 'Viking' running on GNU/Linux platform or opentopomap layer loaded in in Browser?

Thank you.

opentopomap is just an other representation of the osm data. The map does not contain any height information other than the visible contour lines.

If you use opentopmap, you only have a different view, no other advantages.
