When I map building using an "area" feature using Esri background and see the same place in another background (Bing / Mapbox / Maxar), the location of buildings see to have shifted slightly which is confusing. Do we have a solution for this? Is there a default map preferred for such situations?

See the Align Imagery Before Tracing section of the Good Practice page on our wiki and follow some of the links there. The short answer is that none of the imagery sources are reliable, and which one is the best can vary from region to region.

And it can vary with zoom level, too. In my area Esri used to be very accurate. Now a couple of weeks ago they replaced the imagey for lower zoom levels up to 19 with newer images but they are off by ~5m. The images from 20 are still the old ones and highly accurate.
