Greetings. Basically the same as my previous post... I have a new computer, but not the original downloaded file of the USA. 1. What is the recommended site to get a map/s of the USA? 2. How do I then prepare it for installation? 3. I would appreciate some wisdom please! 4. Thanks

I can't seem to find a "simple" set of instructions!

For further background, the following is a cut and paste from my initial post a couple years ago. I have no idea how I got this to work, so, this is why I'm reposting...

"It seems I have written an incorrect note. I did download a file from: USA Basiskarte TK-USA-Basemap.7z (MD5) 2016-11-04, 13:52 2804 MB Basis (Straßen, Flächen, Routing, Adressuche, POIs...). However, I don't speak German, so didnt continue with this. I did follow the link from Escada's post and after working through the installation process, the map of the USA works! Thanks, Escada!"

I trust this here is helpful!

An update. I found some maps from "Computerteddy" I now have this map installed and working in Mapsource. Next project is to purchase a 4GB microSD card and load the img file onto it. I'm happy! Thanks

Dave Hansen has a set of downloads for the USA. Every time there is an update (monthly?), he sends out an email to the talk-us mailing list with a short FAQ.

I'm not sure you can install them all at the same time on your Etrex though.

Thanks, Escada. I'm hoping to have it all on one SD card as previous. Will wait to see what transpires.
