Many county roads (usually designated by a letter or letters) in the US are classified as secondary or residential by TIGER. I think they should be tertiary; above unclassified, and below state numbered roads. Map Features is not clear. This is a problem everywhere I have worked. |

There is a wiki page about US road classification: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/United_States_Road_Classification . If that does not help then ask from Talk-us mailing list and give links to roads about what you have doubts. There isn't one certain answer to this question and this kind of questions tend to lead to endless discussions for what this help site is not ment for. Use google to search within talk-us mailing list archieve http://lists.openstreetmap.org/pipermail/talk-us/ . You can find one discussion from 2008 March and probably some more. If you can't find a sufficient answer from archieves then you can raise this question on talk-us mailinglist.
