What are the best way to get clear and latest satelite imagery in osm?

0

It is a common problem faced by every osm user, bad satelite imagery. Also the satelite imagery aren't latest. They are old so they are not able to show new feature. So how can this problem be fixed and what are the best way to get latest and clear satelite imagery?

Since OSMF does not own satellites, nor airplanes, we depend on third parties to provide the imagery. For satellite imagery, these are often commercial companies with their own agenda. Pictures taken from airplanes are often available via local government sites.

I am lucky enough to live in a rich country where aerial imagery is updated on a yearly basis, but still, due to the process to make and process the photos, they are a little over a year old.

There is little that an individual mapper or even the OSMF can do to change this. Depending on where you live, you might contact your local government and ask them to license the imagery under an "open" license so it can be used for OSM.
