I don't want to see Mapillary layer all the time while using JOSM. How can I turn the display on and off.

In the layers pane (top right corner in JOSM by default) you can toggle the visibility of all layers by clicking on the small eye icon to the left of the layer name. You can also delete the whole layer from that list by right-clicking and pressing remove. To get rid of the Mapillary pane click the green Mapillary icon in the left hand side panel.
