I created an account and opted to use the GitHub option for signing up. Unfortunately another user was logged into GitHub on another tab and the system used those credentials rather than mine. I changed the account's username and the associated email in the hopes that I can recreate the OSM account at a later date. I've tried recreating it once with no success, but I suspect if I give it the weekend some automatic user-account garbage collection magic will fix the problem.
