I'm a complete beginner with OpenStreetMap and to make things worse, not very computer literate although I can get by. I'm under time pressure (1/7/19 !) to produce a guided walk map for a special edition of our village magazine. This will be mostly distributed as hard copy. I thought of using OpenStreetMap but would need to edit a version primarily for local use rather than clutter up the generally accessible version with stuff only of interest to locals. I would then need to download it for the hard copy magazine which would go from me to the editor as a Word document. A screenshot has been suggested. Any other ideas? |

The bbbike extracts service has SVG output a one of it's options. It may need some tidying in your favorite vector graphic editor, but if you're looking to add a route to it, it may be a good starting point. Some additional tools for OSM on paper are listed here. |

I like this version of openstreetmap. https://opentopomap.org/#map=15/52.33029/-0.20698 If a screen grab is not good enough this site also generates maps for garmin devices. The map will work with Garmin Basecamp which is available as a free download. Use the PC or Mac version for Basecamp. Basecamp software has map and route printing abilities. Basecamp is primarily for planning routes and tracks so you can send them to a Garmin. It also sends maps to Garmin devices, GPS , Sat Navs and Watches. |
