how do I get started as a mobile mapper

I signed up as a mobile mapper and received an E mail for me to confirm that it is me, when I confirmed I then did nor receive any further instructions

There are many ways you could sign up as an OSM editor. It may be useful to provide us with more info. Did you sign up on the OSM website? Did you do it through an app like Maps.me?

welcome to OSM. You might want to start by looking at the Learn OSM website, specifically the Beginner's guide there. Start with mapping something simple: a shop, a street name, something like that.
