The OSM wiki has helpful pages about Public Transport and Adding a bus route. LearnOSM has a rather short section about Route Relations with the OSM editor JOSM. OsmAnd (an OSM-based Android/iOS app) published a guide for adding public transport routes with JOSM. |

It's a fairly complicated matter and would be a very lengthy process to explain here. My personal advice would be to gain a lot more experience in contributing to OSM before advancing to such complicated matters such as route relations. |
