Cannot login to new account

I have created an account at openstreetmap.org, received the address confirmation email and confirmed my email address. When I try to login using user name or email address and password I get directed to a page that says "Your OpenID is not associated with a OpenStreetMap account yet.", but does not log me in. I have not created an OpenID login yet so cannot log in that way.

I am stuck! Help please! Cheers Geoff

I have eventually resolved this after trying al sorts, including resetting password (which was accepted, but still resulted in same behaviour with new password, and trying three different browsers. I got there by logging in from my Android mobile which for some reason succeeded. whilst logged in there I set my OpenAuth ID to my gmail account and thereafter logging-in worked from anywhere. Bizarre! Cheers Geoff
