I would like to download the world map as pdf so I can later add things in Illustrator. I only need a vector map of the world with the shoreline end country boarders. It seems the file is too big to generate. asked 28 Feb '19, 08:22  Sam |

Ok, however these maps are as png. Can I find such a map as vector file (pdf, eps)? And with the same world representation/shape as OpenStreetmaps?
Look again - most are SVG. If you want the same projection as OSM uses, limit your search to those with "mercator" in the name/description. www.naturalearthdata.com is a more sophisticated option but you'll need to use a GIS software like QGIS or ArcGIS to make a PDF/SVG from the shapes you can download there.
