I keep coming across trucking companies, and I see no procedure for tagging them. They're certainly not a shop or craft, and all transport options seem to be for transporting people, not goods. I've been putting them in as office=company, but it seems there must be a better way. asked 25 Feb '19, 21:45 Steve robinmetral |
Here one i mapped sometime ago https://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=17/52.33574/-0.29337 answered 27 Feb '19, 20:41 andy mackey |
There is a tag landuse=depot which does get used for bus depots and truck company depots. It doesn't fulfil every criterion, but is a useful start (particularly as such places can often be deduced from aerial imagery). Also there is company=logistics, and more generic approaches using industry_sector (ie., things like SIC codes). However, it is well known that OSM tagging is not very rich when it comes to many blue-collar occupations. answered 25 Feb '19, 22:40 SK53 ♦ Plenty of tags for businesses who deal with the general public, but almost nothing for businesses that deal with other businesses.

To your last comment, I think it's rather telling that all of the trades are grouped under craft=*.
