I have found an area north of Sechelt BC where OSM has a data hole -- no roads or trails are shown. Google Maps in Satellite view shows a lot of roads not shown on OSM.

Is there a workflow for creating path segments in google maps, exporting them in a form that I can use to edit them in OSM?

Can you post a URL to the area ? I'm looking at https://www.openstreetmap.org/search?query=Sechelt%20BC%20#map=14/49.4850/-123.7581 , but don't know which sub area you mean. Go to http://www.openstreetmap.org, zoom in to the area and copy the URL from the browser.

Unfortunately, Google Maps cannot legally be used as a source for adding data to the OpenStreetMap database. Please stick with the imagery providers who have granted us permission to use their content for OSM contributions (many of which will be available as background layers in OSM editing tools) or your own on-the-ground research.

(I hope I didn't misunderstand your question; correct me if I did.)

... and I guess the paths will be also visible on at least one of the imagery available to us (selectable in our editors). So there is also just no need for the google Satellite view.
