some of my recent edits do not show at all in the map, or only in certain resolutions. The edits happened yesterday and the day before; previously my edits were visible within minutes and at all resolutions. Maybe I'm doing something silly I'm not aware of?

I am using JOSM on a Kubuntu 11.4 system, but I suspect that's not the problem - if I open the areas in question with Potlach, all the data are there, the changesets can be seen in the history, the tags seem to be in order, and if I reload with JOSM I get my edits just fine. I can't think of anything I changed in my JOSM settings.

It can take several days before your changes are fully rendered on all resolutions. If the server have a light load and the area are easy to render it might take as little as a few seconds to render. If your changes appears on some zoom levels then you have done everything right. If you have made errors in the tags it would not show on any zoom levels.

thanks. I also noticed in the meantime that my content is shown in the osmarender rendition. I was just surprised by the processing times suddenly rising from minutes to days! And it's an unpoulated wilderness area which shouldn't take long to render at all...

sorry for the noise.

Osmarender renders zoom level 17 and scales that to make zoom levels 16-12. So that all zoom levels are rendered at the same time.

There is maintenance this weekend. The mapnik layer is not currently updating. See: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Power_Maintenance_Q3_2011

@Gnonthgol:

That is not strictly true. The tiles at homes project uses Osmarender to render each some level separately but the client only upload the tileset once z12 through z17 are complete and packed into one file.
