When trying to export the area around Miami Airport, I get this error:

The webpage at https://www.openstreetmap.org/api/0.6/map?bbox=-80.3309%2C25.7047%2C-80.1126%2C25.8598 might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.

Is there a solution for this? It seems to work fine with other locations.

Your bounding box is too big, it contains more than 50.000 nodes and hence the server returns a HTTP "400" error code.
