Dear mappers,

is anybody here from New Zealand? I would like to learn the crop planted at this field at the northern coast of New Zealand.

It's always behind very high hedges, so I can't figure it out from e.g. StreetView. Is it Kiwi?

Thanks!

I'm in NZ but I'm in South Island, so not really close to that area. What I can tell you though, that I'm 95% sure those are indeed kiwifruit plantations.

A quick search about the area comes up with numerous news about kiwi orchard sales and stuff. Also, from taking a peek at a place where you can actually see the plants from SW, they look pretty much exactly as kiwifruit plantations look like https://goo.gl/maps/jDGJhNowdak

Thank you for looking into and improving the map in NZ!

There is a school just to the north. If i was very curious i would email them telling them a bit about openstreetmap and then asking them. If they are too busy they may ignore you, but they may want to introduce the pupils to openstreetmap.
