Dear mappers, is anybody here from New Zealand? I would like to learn the crop planted at this field at the northern coast of New Zealand. It's always behind very high hedges, so I can't figure it out from e.g. StreetView. Is it Kiwi? Thanks! asked 07 Oct '18, 16:02 Norske |
There is a school just to the north. If i was very curious i would email them telling them a bit about openstreetmap and then asking them. If they are too busy they may ignore you, but they may want to introduce the pupils to openstreetmap. answered 09 Oct '18, 16:31 andy mackey |
I'm in NZ but I'm in South Island, so not really close to that area. What I can tell you though, that I'm 95% sure those are indeed kiwifruit plantations. A quick search about the area comes up with numerous news about kiwi orchard sales and stuff. Also, from taking a peek at a place where you can actually see the plants from SW, they look pretty much exactly as kiwifruit plantations look like https://goo.gl/maps/jDGJhNowdak Thank you for looking into and improving the map in NZ! answered 12 Oct '18, 10:23 ivss_xx |
