In edits of some new mappers who do their edits using iD editor, somtimes I see there are some nodes that suddenly have moved to a near/far place.

I primarily do my edits using JOSM and i'm not so familiar with iD editor.

Do you know how these mistakes are produced? Do they move nodes, but not aware of the action? What would you advice to them to prevent such a mistake?

The newest one I observed is this changeset: "62394485" (6 bad moves), which I put a changeset comment and would correct it in case of no response from him: alt text

My guess is that the user is simply trying to pan the map, but unlike JOSM, iD uses the left mouse button for both map panning and dragging nodes. On a dense map and especially for new users, they try to pan the map not realising they are moving nodes.

It can be annoying as it's hard to fix up after these changes (as there are both good and bad changes, you have to try to revert part of the changeset which takes a lot of time and effort).
