I spotted that there are
4340 instances of camp_site=camp_pitch
1241 instances of camp_site=pitch
(https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/search?q=camp_site%3Dpitch)

camp_site wiki (https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key%3Acamp_site) suggests that "camp_pitch" is the correct value.

I am not able to deal with the overhead related to requesting and approving this automated edit.
Are there OSM teams that are would be able to review and process such change?

It's unlikely that there are OSM teams that do this. Bulk edits are a controversial, and advanced topic in OSM. I think you'll just have to accept messy OSM data

While that answer may not be satisfying, it is probably the best you can do in this situation. Furthermore, even were you to change or correct the tagging of existing objects, what's to stop folks from continuing to use the incorrect tags in the future?

As with most things one wants changed in OSM, that will likely require a lot of effort.

Cheers,

Dave
