I have word on another channel that Roland Olbricht is aware of the issue, so no need to mail him.

In general, operational issues with overpass-api.de can be checked and reported on https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Overpass_API/status.

Thanks for the contact and link for API status ;)

Switching to HTTP was not really an option as I really want to have a secure connection, but it's all good now since it has been renewed.
