Why are some cycleways represented with a thicker light purple/blue highlighted line and a dashed blue line while others are only represented with a dashed blue line? How can I introduce the light purple/blue highlight line?

Can you point to an example on the map? Just copy the URL.

I guess you are referring to the lines you see e.g. here ? They represent routes in a cycle network, but most likely any cycle route is represented that way
