updating gnis:reviewed

1

The wiki page for the USGS GNIS import gives a lot of good background on the system and the tags used, but doesn't mention the gnis:reviewed tag at all. It doesn't come up on the Talk page either.

What's the protocol for how to review a feature that's tagged with gnis:reviewed=no? If I have found the feature in question, confirmed (or corrected) its name and location, should I then change the value to yes?

IMHO either removing GNIS tags or setting gnis:reviewed=yes are both valid actions. The GNIS import was a long time ago and it is rather unlikely that the source will ever be used again. In general anything imported from GNIS with (historic) in the name should have priority for review as that is really just a mispelling of (wrong) :-).

Thanks... My instinct is to leave the gnis tags alone unless they're demonstrably inaccurate, and set gnis:reviewed=yes.
