I'm trying to find an imagery layer for United States.

Can anyone help me select that option, or tell me if OpenStreetMaps is capable of displaying an imagery layer?

Are you talking of editing/contributing to OpenStreetMap or do you rather just want to use our services as kind of Google Maps replacement?

Hello. I'm talking about using the services as a Google Maps replacement. Thank you.

OpenStreetMap is a volunteer project, and as such does not have the resources to launch its own satellites, capture widespread aerial imagery, or even purchase imagery from commercial imagery providers. We've been granted permission to use certain imagery sources (e.g. Bing, MapBox, DigitalGlobe, etc.) for the purpose of editing, but that permission does not carry over to general use as a map background. You'd need to arrange access with these providers on your own terms by setting up an account with them, paying any relevant usage fees, and getting your own API key (where applicable).
