Umap base layer displays watermark “API key required”

0

Hi I have a (private) map hosted at https://umap.openstreetmap.fr/en/ Using the base layer "Outdoors (OSM)" I guess the API key is needed for umap.openstreetmap.fr to communicate with the OSM layer? Or is it possible for me to get an API key and add it somewhere? Thanks for any tips!

The layer labeled "OSM Outdoors (Thunderforest)"?

These tiles are provided by Thunderforest. Thunderforest requires an API key. This has nothing to do with OSM in particular.

However, for me this uMap layer doesn't show a watermark. After inspection of the tile URLs I can see that uMap is already providing an API key.

Is this a new uMap project? Can you try selecting a different base layer and then switch back? Does "OSM OpenCycleMap" (also hosted by Thunderforest) also show this watermark?

Hi Scai, thanks for super fast response!

The layer we have been using which displays the watermark is labelled "Outdoors (OSM)" The layer "OSM Outdoors (Thunderforest)" does not display a watermark, or any of the other Thunderforest layers.

This does seem weird so I've attached some screenshots to illustrate!

I wonder are we using the same instance of umap? https://umap.openstreetmap.fr/en/map/*

I could share the link to the map in a private message if it helps?

If its very hard to fix then we can just switch layers - however the Outdoors (OSM) works a lot better with the additional layers.

If other Thunderforest layers work for then this looks like a uMap bug. I guess they somehow forgot to add the API key to this particular uMap layer. Try to get in contact with the uMap administrator(s).
