export single trails

I'd like to export single trails to load into Google Earth or ArcGIS/QGIS for overlay onto a geologic map. What's the best way to do this?

What do you mean by "single trails"? Can you give an example?

Hjart, with single trails I mean just a trail or trail segment that is classified as a single feature in OSM. For instance K Lynn Cameron Trail (106448901) in central northern CO is one feature. I want to avoid having just one combined file for all trails in an area since I may want to add or delete specific trails or trail segments on the map.
