Why not ask your question on the new OpenStreetMap Community Forum?

I am an absolute beginner at OpenStreetMap. I have an AutoCAD detail file of Gandhinagar City, Gujarat, India. And I would like to overlay the whole file onto the OpenStreetMap so that people can use them for a better purpose. Please, can someone guide me through the process? And is it possible to overlay it directly? Hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks, Regards Shaurya

Hi Shaurya and welcome to OpenStreetMap.

It is not quite clear what you want to do, but if you want to import, that is include, the data in OSM, then you need to follow the import guidelines.

But before you even contemplate doing that I would suggest learning a bit about how OSM works, and linking up with the OSM community in India see OSM India wiki.

The biggest thing for uploading is whether the data you are uploading is open licence (ODbL). If you don't know or can't trace that don't upload https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open_Database_License
