Dear Support Team,

When I search for the address (Road 404 Sitra kingdom of Bahrain) it gives me the following address Road 404, Um Al Hassam, Manama, Capital Governorate, 604, Bahrain (Residential)

Although the street and the location displayed is correct in the result, the area specified is incorrect "Um Al Hassam" & "Manama". The correct area should be "Sitra" instead of "Um Al Hassam" & "Manama".

We tried correcting it but we are unable to remove "Um Al Hassam" & "Manama" and change it to Sitra.

Appreciate if you could correct this on the map.

Since there is just one building mapped at this road thats the only adress that could be found. Hi these figures came from GIS Directorate of Central Informatics Organnisation Bahrain so that is the source of the knowledge in OSM. Please ask them why it is as it is and if it should change into your suggestion. www.bahrainlocator.gov.bh

The government of Bahrain won't be able to provide any help for an OSM issue.

If you take a look at https://nominatim.openstreetmap.org/details.php?place_id=94196093, you will see that most administrative information comes from nodes. The algorithm that Nominatim uses is less precise with nodes. The correct the address, you have to map all administrative boundaries with relations.

The reason that the approach with nodes is less precise, is that Nominatim finds the nearest node, which can often be in the wrong administrative area. Please do not move the node to solve it for your case, it will most certainly break it for other addresses. The only correct solution is to find a source with administrative boundaries with a compatible license for OpenStreetMap.
