How do I return to the OSM main interface from HELP? Clicking on the OSM icon keeps me in HELP. asked 06 Jul '11, 15:48 KEO Andy Allan |
The quickest way is just to type 'osm.org' into your browser's address bar. answered 06 Jul '11, 15:53 Jonathan Ben... 3
That is indeed the most practical and shortest solution at the moment. But I (and maybe others) really would appreciate when there are links to osm.org and (IMHO more important) to http://forum.openstreetmap.org ...

I would like to see obvious and consistent Map, Help and Wiki links so that moving back and forth is simple. I know that i can get to and from map and wiki but not the forum. The main page as highlighted links to help and wiki, but you have to find the map by accident, not ideal for new visitors. I hope this is a constructive moan.

Just noticed this evening that, on the right-hand side of both the main help page and on the individual questions pages, there is now a box saying "This is the support site for OpenStreetMap." The blue text OpenStreetMap is a clickable link which takes you back to the map. Not sure if this is new but I certainly hadn't noticed it before and I too had been wanting a quick way to return to the map after viewing the help page. answered 19 Dec '13, 07:54 NZGraham Thanks it works. Ideally it would be an obvious link

yes, TomH put this link very shortly after a ticket was opened on trac yesterday. See details here: https://trac.openstreetmap.org/ticket/5078

If you just viewed a few pages on help.osm.org: Just use the "back" feature of your browser (that is a basic functionality which all should have; usually accessible by a leftward arrow button or by some rightward swipe gesture for touch interfaces). Well, or open the help site in a new tab. Yes, that may have room for enhancement. To report bugs and feature requests I think it is best to use https://trac.openstreetmap.org/ (component "website") instead. answered 18 Dec '13, 13:15 aseerel4c26 ♦ 2
if you have been browsing some time in the help-forum you will have to go back a lot!
