SharpCurves Support in OSM

1

Hi, Am new to OSM and am looking for inputs on if I can get information on roads with SharpCurves. I have seen a couple of links (posted below) where users pointed out proposed features for curves like Warning: CurveLeft or Hazard: Curve. But I dont think there is supports for the same. So some one please clarify if I can get information about curves. Thanks in advance.

what do you mean by "get information on roads with SharpCurves"? Do you want to contribute to OSM or do you want to use OSM's data? Please describe a bit.

I assume varsimp wants to find tight radius, high G curves and although they could be estimated a bit from Bing or DG the camber and road surface friction can't be.

I basically want to use OSM data to find if there are curves on the roads.

@Andy, Thanks for the info

Okay, so are you asking for tags which are possibly used to mark such curves? What about calculating a curve radius based on the geometry or curves?

hazard=curve from the hazard proposal has been used almost 900 times.

However aseerel4c26 has a valid point. Sharp curves can be calculated very easily by navigation software if the roads are mapped with sufficient detail.

Of course there can be additional conditions making a curve particularly difficult, such as a bad surface or frequent wetness due to high humidity, a stream running over the road and similar causes. In these cases just looking at the road geometry isn't enough. See also hazard=slippery_road.
