Turn signal data on OSM

0

I'm looking for turn signal data on OSM. For example, an intersection-related key that indicates whether an intersection has the dedicated left turn signal (green left-oriented arrow). Although existing tun key (turn=*) shows whether a lane leads to turning or merging, it may not replace the applicability of turn signal.

I aware a proposed feature (traffic_signals:turn=*) reflect exacts my requirements. I wonder how long it may take for proposed features to become real ones?

Thank you!

I was also trying to look up the detailed turn signal data from elsewhere (e.g., data.gov, GIS open data). It has taken me quite a while, but I have not yet found such data, at least from publicized datasets. I wonder if such data exist?

Largely, two things need to happen.

  1. Mappers need to actually capture and put in this data.
  2. Consumers need to bother using it.

The first one's going to be the overall barrier on things that don't pique many people's interest while also greatly complicating the workflow.
