I am developing a computer game as a hobby. It started as a project for my own entertainment but it's going great so far and I am considering making it commercial.

Assets in the game include 3D models of "paper tourist maps" of some cities around the world. These have a central role in the game and are based on OSM. The maps will take up most of the screen, but they are depicted as if they were physical paper maps. For example a somewhat dirty, used map could be depicted on a table with some coins and a candle light closeby.

Am I allowed to sell a game with images like these?

Yes, as long as you credit OSM as required by the licence (and fulfil any 'share-alike' requirements if adding to the map data, but this is unlikely to be relevant in your case). See more at http://www.openstreetmap.org/copyright .
