I want to apply the tag historic=city_gate with Vespucci. Unfortunately, a search for "city gate" or "city_gate" does not show anything:

This is the preset search. You can only search for things that Vespucci has a preset for. However there seems to be no preset for historic=city_gate so the search fails. If you already know the correct tag then skip the preset search. Just swipe to the right until you get to an activity where you can enter key and values directly. answered 12 Oct '17, 13:24  scai ♦ |
As scai wrote there is currently no preset for historic=city_gate so you can search but wont find a corresponding preset.
Please open an issue here https://github.com/simonpoole/beautified-JOSM-preset so that we can consider adding one.
PS: the key is fairly high use but for whatever reason neither iD nor JOSM has a preset for it either.
