How to tag special fire hydrants part of the Vancouver DFPS?

1

In downtown Vancouver, there are regular fire hydrants (usually red) and special blue-and-white ones which are part of the Dedicated Fire Protection System.

I looked on the wiki and it doesn't mention that case, which is not surprising since apparently only Vancouver and San Francisco have a similar system.

Any suggestions as to how I should tag these blue hydrants?

No, I'm not familiar with Frisco. Do you have a link handy?

There was recently a thread on the tagging-mailing list about fire hydrants: https://lists.openstreetmap.org/pipermail/tagging/2017-August/032978.html You could try replying to that and asking them the same question.

"Frisco" means "San Francisco".

Also check https://www.osmhydrant.org/ to easily add and edit fire hydrant data. For your question you could use operator, color and description tags.

I would just put a different operator and colour tags on it.
