Our order management project has the need for Geocoding, Routing and Rendering the routes on a Map. We have been using the API from a provider who charges significant amount per year. So we decided to see if we can replace it with some open source provider.

Based on the analysis we did in the last few days, we would like to create our own server and our interest would be only on the north-america-latest.osm.pbf. We are comfortable with using

  • Nominatim for Geocoding

  • OSRM for Routing

  • Create a Map tile server using Mapnik

Could someone shed light on what the server specs for importing the above data and hosting would need to be? Since we are from a Windows background, we have limited knowledge on this.
