I'm looking at a map in Central America specifically the Lake Atlitan area in Guatemala, and I'm seeing large areas with NR in green on the map. Can someone tell me what NR means on the map? |

a green NR is the indication for Examples (as in our data as of 2013-11-20):

This is used for areas tagged as A nature reserve is a protected area of importance for wildlife, flora, fauna or features of geological or other special interest, which is reserved and managed for conservation and to provide special opportunities for study or research. Nature reserves may be designated by government institutions in some countries, or by private landowners, such as charities and research institutions. |
