I have recommended OSM to a family running a small business who wish to add maps to their website, offering local walks from their premises. My knowledge of OSM is limited to its use and the contributions I make. My knowledge of working with websites is zero. Does OsmAnd help in this regard, or can anyone offer something suitable for this requirement that I can pass on? What file formats are required, typically?

Likely creating a map on umap.openstreetmap.fr (or any other instance) and then embedding that on their website is the way to go, assuming that they will want to mark routes etc.

Simon I thank you for your immediate reply and suggestion. I guess the family will wish to overlay OSM with the walking route(s). We shall look at that site in detail - it looks positive, certainly, at first glance.
