How to generate map tiles - with latinized text?

Hello

How I should go about to generate map tiles that uses english/latinized text as much possible, instead of displaying a mix of scripts such as cyrillic, arabic, chinese et.c. like the default OpenStreetMap style does.

Is there a readily available modification of the default OpenStreetMap style implementing english/latinized text? Or will I have to customize the style myself?

This really an FAQ and has been answered many times before.

Please see http://blog.gegg.us/2013/09/a-simple-way-to-localize-latinize-an-openstreetmap-style/ for an approach to solving this. If you want flexibility an alternative would be to use vector tiles (and add transliterated data to the tiles) see for example https://openmaptiles.org/languages/#0.94/0/0
