I'm not a gamer, but it's my understanding that they make mouses for gaming that have additional, customizable buttons. This seems like it'd be useful for mapping with, if the buttons were customized to do common things like select the Select tool, Draw Nodes tool, building tool, Undo. Maybe apply common presets. This seems like it should be easily doable, but I don't have any experience with it, so was wanting to confirm. My computer is running Ubuntu, Unity at present, and I edit with JOSM, but answers that are more generally applicable are welcome. asked 10 Aug '17, 04:52 keithonearth |

You didn't mention which operating system you are using, but anyway. JOSM has keyboard customizable keyboard shortcuts for nearly everything (see the list in the Preferences), in the simplest case it should be possible to configure your mouse so that it generates the necessary codes. YMMV answered 10 Aug '17, 10:05 SimonPoole ♦ I'm running the Ubuntu Linux distro, with the Unity desktop environment at present. (But will be changing to a different DE inn the next 6-12 months.)
