Do you guys ever update your base map? The roads in my area were changed by my county (Berkeley, WV) about 6 years ago and your map still has the wrong streets.

Yes, we actually do update our "basemap" (or more accurately our database) around the clock, all year. Please note though that OSM is a non-profit organisation wholly dependent on volunteers and if there's no volunteers looking at your particular area... well, bad luck!

You can make a difference though. Just click "Edit" on http://www.openstreetmap.org/

Generally there are no bulk updates, individual volunteers will review roads (and so on) and update them to match ground surveys and other (suitably licensed) data sources over time. The rural US tends not to have so many people working on it. Local knowledge is prized, you are welcome to click "Edit" on http://www.openstreetmap.org/ and improve the map.

As others have said there are frequent updates to the map. Here is map of the updates, displayed live, to give you an idea of how frequent these updates are. It's basically continuous. But the world is big, and if none of the volunteers take an interest in your area, or no one who takes an interest in your area volunteers, then it will not get updated.

The linked website doesn't appear to do anything.

@Harjat: Weird, it's working for me. The server might not be able to handle the load all the time? That said, the few times I've accessed it it's worked fine. Here is another one that does a very similar thing.

Ok, this one works for me
