HI, I am writing from the the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel. I see that the satellite photo of the Institute has not been updated and is missing some buildings. Is it possible to send you a new aerial photo to upload? Alternatively, can you update the one you have on your own. Google maps seems to have the correct satellite photo. asked 16 Jul '17, 10:08 shoshiweinberg |
The main mission of OpenStreetMap is to create a map. If a building exists on the ground but is missing from the map, feel free to add it to the map right now, even if the satellite photos do not show it. You can add a building by creating a node tagged "building=yes" and "name=The Building's Name" at the building's location. You can record the name in English as well by tagging "name:en=Building's Name in English" in addition to the local name. If you have time to take a GPS trace of the building outline, that would be great too, but every contribution is valuable. If you don't have time to take a GPS trace, just add a node so routers (searches) would find the building. answered 16 Jul '17, 13:54 dsh4 |
Can you add a link to where it is on the map (just the URL if you browse there with www.openstreetmap.org would work).
I added http://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=17/31.90748/34.81073
