I made
https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/502803011
based on
https://www.gearthblog.com/blog/archives/2017/05/calibration-targets-5-around-world.html
but how to tag it?
https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Map_features
doesn't have it, and if it needs to go through
https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Proposal_process
then somebody please figure out what would be a good proposal and propose it. Thanks.

I played a bit with taginfo

  • 90x man_made=calibration
  • 3x man_made=calibration_target
  • 12x calibration=area
  • 5x calibration=point
  • 4x calibration_point=...

Personally I would use man_made=calibration_target ; calibration_target=satellite but I guess man_made=calibration ; calibration=satellite would work as well.

It would be nice if someone that mapped / imported those areas would have written a wiki page about it.
