I mapped some historic, partly excavated places in my area. I wasn't sure how to tag a small church from about 500 AD. I just created a node with the tag historic=archaelogical_site and that's it. I think, this is very unspecific, but there was no site_type=church option available. How can I tag this small, ruined, partly excavated church/chapel correctly?

Hi have a look here, https://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=19/40.75107/14.48224 lots of examples, with more or less tags and even links to Wikipedia or other sites. I would ad the historic period tag if you have got a specific period. And if there was a sign, I hope you remembered it or do have made a picture.
