Dear OSM community, I am going to run a mapathon in Vietnam to support a transport project. If the mapathon happens on Monday, and everyone digitizing a bunch of roads using ID editor, how soon will those improvements be incorporated into the public OSM layer, and ready for us turn around and download it? thanks Sarah asked 25 May '17, 06:10 sarahantos |
Have you ever added something to OSM yet ? That's the best way to judge how long it will take for your particular workflow. Normally the data is immediately placed into the database and the renderers will pick it up within minutes. Depending on the load and the zoom layer there might be some longer delays. The other maps available from osm.org (e.g. humanitarian, cycle, etc.) might take a couple of days. As for the download, it depends on which provider you are using, Overpass is typically with 10 minutes, others might take a day or longer There is no difference for your individual contributions or a mapathon. Even when there are 10 or so people mapping in the same area, you probably won't notice an extra delay. Good luck with your mapathon. answered 25 May '17, 06:46 escada Awesome! thanks so much for your help
