How to take the icons away?

0

When editing a map (of Tegucigalpa, Honduras) I would like to take all icons away to edit new polygons and markers.

If you are using the Potlatch2 (in-browser) editor, select "Wireframe" from the "Map Style" dropdown at the top of the edit window. If you are using the JOSM (Java) editor, select "Wireframe view" from the "View" menu.

Both editors allow you to define custom styles, and JOSM even has custom filters, which you can use to influence what is displayed and how. This is however an advanced topic too complex for an answer like this; look up "map style" or "MapCSS" on the Wiki.

Thanks a lot Frederik. It is indeed a complex subject, non the less your answer is a good start.
